Error Code 800B0100 in Windows Update
800B0100 TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE = A certificate chain processed, but terminated in
a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.
What is this Windows Update Error?

When using the Windows Update service you may experience an error
message: 800B0100 and notification that the file did not install.
For advanced users who know how to read via the "Event Viewer" the
error may be similar to this one:
The Windows update "Security Update for Windows (KB958690)"
could not be installed because of an error: 2148204800 "No signature
was present in the subject." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe"
"C:\Working\Windows6.0-KB958690-x86.msu" ")

So what do you do?
The Resolution:
There are two reasons for this error message 800B0100
#1 - The file did not pass a Root security check.
Run the Windows Update again from your PC's Start Menu or go here.
If it still fails try this:
At the command prompt, copy and then paste (or type) the following
command.
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll /s
Close the Command Prompt window.
Try to install the update again.
#2 - Seems to be related to an interrupted download.
Run the Windows Update again from your PC's Start Menu or go here.
You may need to TURN OFF you fire wall whilst doing this if it fails again. But remember to turn it back on again!!!
#3 - Some files you downloaded were not signed properly and so can not install.
Try and manually download the file, the link will be in the
associated update KB article from Microsoft.
